Planning is essential in order for a community to define their collective vision for the future. Planning reviews and evaluates existing conditions, establishes a collective vision and establishes clear goals and objectives for achieving that vision.
What is the purpose of this plan?
This corridor plan is an official policy document used by elected officials and community leaders to create a long term vision for the county. This plan cover topics such as economic development, land use opportunities, transportation, utilities, natural resources/environment and quality of life. This plan is warranted due to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT)’s proposed Interstate 69 route through Johnson County. Changes to access, infrastructure analysis and land use opportunities will be analyzed throughout this process.
